Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese Of Philadelphia Partners With Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital To Host Free Food Distribution

Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (NDS) is partnering with Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby (Delaware County) to host a free food distribution to address ongoing pandemic-related food insecurity.

NDS aims to distribute a combined 930 pre-packaged meal boxes and student meal kits to those in need of nourishing food. Community volunteers will be on-hand to assist in the drive-through event.

This is NDS’ 11th large-scale community-wide food giveaway since October 2020. NDS has distributed over 5,000 meal boxes and 56,000 student meal kits to those in need throughout the five-county area through these efforts.

No ID is required. All are welcome. Student meal boxes contain seven breakfasts and lunches for children 18 years old and younger who are virtual learners not receiving school meals. 

The food boxes are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “Farmers to Families” Food Box Program.
