This year’s food drive will take place primarily online Sunday, May 17th – Monday, June 1st.
Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s (NDS) Community Food Program is hosting its annual “Manna Sunday” Food Drive to benefit those experiencing hunger. To enable broad participation, this year’s drive will take place primarily online through a dedicated link at You Give Goods.
The food drive, named after the edible substance which God provided for the Israelites in the desert, aims to stock the shelves of NDS’ network of over 30 food cupboards located throughout the five-county metropolitan area. Through this broad outreach effort, NDS provides nourishment to our neighbors in need. That service is particularly critical, especially during these unprecedented and challenging times.
Those interested in supporting NDS can purchase healthy, non-perishable food items online through You Give Goods at https://yougivegoods.com/mannadrive2020. All goods donated online now through Friday, June 1st will be shipped directly to NDS’ Community Food Program and be distributed to those in need.
Each year, NDS’ Community Food Program hosts the annual Manna Sunday Food Drive in conjunction with parishes and schools across the five-county metropolitan area comprising the Archdiocese. Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, parish communities are encouraged to host a Manna Sunday Food drive on a date of their choosing in the summer only once measures and guidelines are re-evaluated by government and health department officials pending future developments of the virus.
Since the onset of COVID-19, NDS has provided food and food-related resources to individuals, seniors, families, and children in need.
